(The Hollywood Reporter) — Leslie Moonves has begun planning for life after Viacom’s split, hiring Louis Briskman as chief legal officer for the new CBS Corp.
The hiring reunites Moonves, co-president and co-COO of Viacom and chairman of CBS, with Briskman, who served as general counsel to the old CBS Corp. prior to its merger with Viacom in 2000.
Briskman has been senior VP/general counsel of Aetna Inc. since April 2004.
As executive VP/general counsel of CBS Corp., he will oversee legal activities for all properties in Moonves’ portfolio; existing general counsels at each division report to Briskman, who in turn reports to Moonves.
