Jason Brenek has been promoted to the newly created position of senior VP, worldwide digital cinema and cinema programming for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group.
Brenek will now be in charge of non-traditional movie content at the studio, including 3-D and live events delivered to theaters using digital cinema in the U.S. and internationally.
Brenek, formerly VP of distribution strategy, will report to Mark Zoradi, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Group.
“Jason has been on the cutting edge of digital cinema for many years here at Disney,” Zoradi says. “He helped to pioneer Disney’s entry into the digital 3-D world with our first release, ‘Chicken Little,’ and he did a fantastic job conceiving, championing and overseeing the enormously successful February 2008 release of ‘Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert.'”
