Jason Boyarski, has joined the U.S. operation of Warner/Chappell Music as senior VP/GM. In his new position, Boyarski – who will report to Warner/Chappell president and U.S. chairman and CEO Scott Francis – will oversee the U.S. company’s New York office, including the development of business strategies involving Warner/Chappell’s songwriters.
In addition, he will play a major role in the U.S. company’s signing of songwriters and the acquisition of songwriter catalogs via strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and other new business ventures.
Prior to joining Warner/Chappell Music, Boyarski was with BMG Music Publishing and then Universal Music Publishing Group, which acquired the former, most recently as VP of business affairs.
From 2000 to 2002, Boyarski was an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, with a general focus in music licensing. Prior to that, he served as a law clerk in the music division at Epstein, Levinsohn, Bodine, Hurwitz & Weinstein, LLP, from 1998 to 2000.
Boyarski, a member of the New York State Bar, received his J.D. degree from the Cardozo School of Law where he graduated cum laude with a concentration in Intellectual Property Law, and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Emory University.
