Kobalt Music Group has appointed Bob Bortnick to the position of senior VP of creative.
Bortnick, based in New York, will be involved with writer relations, catalog acquisitions, creative services and writer/artist development. He will report to Sas Metcalfe, executive VP of creative affairs, and Michael Petersen, executive VP/GM/general counsel U.S.
Bortnick was most recently senior VP of A&R at Warner/Chappell Music. While at Warner/Chappell, he was involved in the signings of Paramore, Muse, Underoath, Killswitch Engage and songwriters Fernando Garibay & Jimmy Messer.
Prior to his Warner Chappell gig, Bortnick was senior VP of A&R at Zomba Music Publishing and a creative director at Almo Sounds.
