Sometimes artists still feel lukewarm after finishing a song, but that was not the case when Boombox Cartel and Grabbitz wrapped up “Colors.” “We knew we had something special,” the Boombox duo tells Billboard in an email. “Grabbitz laid down some amazing vocals over our instrumental and really turned it into something unique.”

This track establishes its theme right away; the listener is instantly adrift in the aftermath of a relationship. “I dreamt in color,” Grabbitz sings, “when I laid next to you.” “But now I suffer with nothing here to view,” he continues. The track builds towards a cathartic hook, a passionate plea for more variety in a world that’s been reduced to shades of blue.
“This song transcends dance music,” Grabbitz explains. “Can’t wait to have fans sing along to this one all over the world,” the Cartel adds.
