Despite another week of tough competition, Usher and Alicia Keys hold onto the top slot of Billboard’s Hot 100 for a fourth week in a row with “My Boo.” Their duet also notches a fourth week atop Billboard’s Hot 100 Airplay list.
Snoop Dogg’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot” featuring Pharrell remains hot on the duo’s heels at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a second week. The track, which is the Hot 100’s greatest airplay gainer for the third week, sends “My Boo” to No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and also tops Billboard’s Hot Rap Tracks and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks tallies for a second week.
Destiny’s Child makes a 4-3 Hot 100 move with “Lose My Breath.” The song is the chart’s fastest growing track at retail and grabs the trio its fifth No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart and its third No. 1 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales tally.
Along with moving up one slot to No. 4 on the Hot 100 this week, Nelly’s “Over and Over” featuring Tim McGraw takes over the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart, where “My Boo” drops to No. 2.
Ciara’s “Goodies” featuring Petey Pablo drops 3-5 on the Hot 100, while Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway” rises 8-6. Maroon5’s “She Will Be Loved” remains No. 7 for a second week and Trick Daddy’s “Let’s Go” is on the move to No. 8 after two weeks at No. 10.
The artists in the last two slots of the top tier also debut new songs on the chart this week. Ja Rule moves 13-9 with “Wonderful” featuring R. Kelly and Ashanti and enters at No. 72 with “New York” featuring Fat Joe and Jadakiss. Eminem’s “Just Lose It” falls four spots to No. 10, but he makes up for it with the chart’s top debut prize for “Encore” featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, which enters at No. 60.
Also debuting this week are Ashanti’s “Only You” (No. 63), Ludacris’ “Get Back” (No. 66), Lloyd Banks’ “Karma” featuring Avant (No. 71), Jadakiss’ “U Make Me Wanna” featuring Mariah Carey (No. 75), Chevelle’s “Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)” (No. 77) and Nas’ “Bridging the Gap” featuring Olu Dara (No. 94).
Rock radio can’t get enough of Velvet Revolver’s “Fall to Pieces,” which spends its seventh week at the top of the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. U2’s “Vertigo” also stays put at No. 1 on the Modern Rock Tracks tally for a third week.
On the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, Lonestar’s “Mr. Mom” climbs 2-1 as last week’s chart-topper, Phil Vassar’s “In a Real Love,” falls to No. 5.
