When your friends are in town, it’s time to jam out. Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon will appear on tonight’s (Jan. 19) episode of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” after The Roots’ (and Fallon’s house bandleader) Questlove invited Vernon to jam out with them on the show.

Quest announced the impromtu collaboration Wednesday afternoon, tweeting, “The coolness of this job. @blobtower [Vernon] lets us know he’s in town, we extend a sit in offer: he accepts! #coolness.” Vernon then replied, “@questlove tomorrow is just gonna be plain fun with actual humans that care about fun. #rare #toorare [sic],” solidifying the musical bro-down. Jonathan Cohen, Late Night’s music booker, also confirmed on Twitter that Vernon will “sit in” with The Roots for the Ewan McGregor hosted episode.
