Classical music superstars Andrea Bocelli, Nigel Kennedy and Sarah Brightman are confirmed to perform at the Classical Brit Awards 2008, to be held May 8 at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
National British broadcaster ITV1 will broadcast the 9th annual show on May 15.
National Savings and Investments (NS&I) returns as headline sponsor of the Classical Brits, nominations which will be unveiled on April 8 at the Mayfair hotel.
The launch party will feature performances from newcomers Jonathan Ansell, vocal quartet Blake and violist Lawrence Power.
The show will be “the biggest and boldest in the history of the event,” declared co-chairmen of the Classical Brit Awards committee, UCJ’s managing director Dickon Stainer and head of EMI Classics U.K. Thomas Kaurich, in a statement issued today.
