Bob Dylan has a Nobel Prize in his safekeeping, his Grammys count is in double digits and he’s a Rock And Roll Hall of Famer. But it’s a safe bet he doesn’t own a selfie stick.
Bob always does things his way, and that usually means no publicity. And photos are out. During a recent show in Vienna, Austria, Dylan opened up – ever so briefly – about his disdain for having his photo taken.
After nearly wiping out on a foldback wedge, Dylan gathered himself and paused when a fan broke his “no photos” rule. “Take pictures or don’t take pictures. We can either play or we can pose. Okay,” he grumbled to the audience before taking his seat at the keys for “It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry.”
Dylan then bailed, Stereogum reports, and his band wrapped things up with an instrumental version of “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues.” Watch below.
While Dylan isn’t so chatty or snap-happy, he’s apparently keen on whiskey. The songwriting legend is expected to help open a whiskey distillery in downtown Nashville next fall under the brand “Heaven’s Door,” a accompaniment to the 50th anniversary of his Nashville Skyline album.
