BMG Rights Management (BRM) has signed a publishing partnership with Irish independent label Religion Music.
Religion Music, whose catalog includes Lesley Roy, Agnelli & Nelson, and Liquid, owns the masters and publishing rights on all its artists.
BRM offers clients the entire range of rights administration and support in marketing its repertoire. Its catalog includes the 200 artists taken over from the former Sony BMG Music Entertainment joint venture, as well as new signings such as Sasha and 2Raumwohnung.
“Religion Music is delighted to have teamed up with BMG to handle all their publishing interests worldwide,” said Religion founder Glenn Herlihy in a statement. “BMG is the right partner for us, and their out-of-the-box thinking and fresh approach was what we had been waiting for. With our recent move and upgrade of our studios in Ireland, we can now focus more on signing new artists and developing them knowing our publishing interests are in safe hands.”
BRM CEO Hartwig Masuch added: “I am really impressed with Glenn’s passion for meaningful artists and glad that he chose us to support his visions.”
BRM is part of German media company the Bertelsmann Group and was formed in October 2008 (Billboard.biz. Oct. 14) following the Sony BMG de-merger process.
