BMG Music Publishing Spain has signed a long-term global music publishing deal for multi-platinum band Estopa. The deal covers Estopa’s future works. The act’s catalog remains with EMI Music Publishing.
Estopa is one of Spain’s hottest bands, racking up career sales of some 2.7 million copies, according to their record company Sony BMG. The act has won several industry honors including Premios Amigo, Premios de la Musica, Premios Ondas and an IFPI Platinum European Award for their latest album “Voces De Ultrarumba,” which Sony BMG said certified double platinum (160,000 units) in Spain within 24 hours of its Nov. 22 release.
Estopa, which comprises of brothers David and José Manuel Mù ñoz, are currently working on a new album for Sony BMG.
