Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Atlantic will re-release James Blunt’s debut album, “Back to Bedlam,” with a bonus live disc recorded last year in Ireland. Due Nov. 7, the new edition also comes in conjunction with Blunt’s next single, “Goodbye My Lover,” which he performed today (Oct. 9) on “Live With Regis & Kelly.”
The second disc of the new set sports the previously unreleased new song “Sugar Coated” as well as covers of Crowded House’s “Fall at Your Feet” and the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?” In the United States, the album has already sold 2.2 million copies in its original form, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Blunt told Billboard.com last week he is accumulating tracks for his next studio album, one of which, “I Can’t Hear the Music,” has been appearing in recent live shows. The artist is on tour in North America through Nov. 18 in Las Vegas.
“I think on the first album I wrote really on my own or with my stuff in mind,” he said. “But I wrote very much thinking of myself as a singer/songwriter with a guitar and piano. Now I know that I have a chance of working with my band so with that in mind, I can hear things definitely [like] how a band may come in as I’m writing a song. It adds a little diversity.”
