The Bloody Beetroots‘ Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo has a spiffy new stage name.
The Italian multi-instrumentalist will now be known as SBCR when he DJs and releases dance-oriented productions, such as those comprising his forthcoming SBCR & Friends, Vol. 1 EP on Dim Mak Records.
However, Beetroots fans need not fear: Rifo will continue using the project as an outlet for his rock-influenced live electronic material.

“I love creating new things, and starting from scratch gives you the opportunity to analyze your skills as an artist in a completely different way,” explains Rifo.
While SBCR’s new six-track EP won’t be released until Monday, you can check out the full premiere of lead single “Wrong” exclusively on Billboard:
Rifo collaborated with fellow Italian producer Razihel on the hard-hitting electro house number, which is built around a seesawing pitched bass progression and bubbling breakdown arpeggios.
“Feeling out of your comfort zone in the creative process, for me, is necessary if not indispensable,” says Rifo. “I decided to work with Razihel on this track as there are so many great talents out there who just need a little more light to shine on them”

Dim Mak boss Steve Aoki describes the Bloody Beetroots as “one of the first acts to define our label in the electronic space.”
“To revisit one of our electro forefathers is a great honor and representative of Dim Mak’s deep-rooted history,” says Aoki. “But don’t be mistaken, this is an entirely new chapter for SBCR and his brand new sound.”
