After publicly splitting with Blink-182 last year, guitarist Tom DeLonge has teamed with New York Times best-selling author Suzanne Young for a trilogy of dystopian sci-fi novels. The first one is called Poet Anderson… Of Nightmares and it’s due Oct. 6 via Simon & Schuster.
And the music tie-in? Each book in the series will come with a companion EP of instrumental songs from DeLonge’s not-Blink-182 band, Angels & Airwaves. Pre-sale bundles are currently available through DeLonge’s production company, To the Stars.

According to a press release, the book takes place in “an unknown world where dreams meet reality and the chasm between the two sometimes disappears.” The plot centers on two brothers, Alan and Jonas who are both lucid dreamers. “Alan is in a coma following a car accident, and Jonas ventures into this murky dream world to wake him up.”

And there’s much more than books going on in DeLonge’s world lately. He plans to release four (!!) albums in 2015, beginning with the solo LP To the Stars that dropped in April. In the pipeline is another solo album and two Angels & Airwaves full-lengths.
After DeLonge split with Blink last year, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker decided to move forward with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba on guitar.
