Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute, COO of Translation Brand Consultation and Brand Imaging, will announce a new charity aimed at inspiring women from all walks of life to reach their individual potential. The initiative, FFAWN: The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now, Inc. is set to be revealed in Yonkers, N.Y. this Friday.
FFAWN’s goal is to help women gain the confidence and skills they need to be successful. The organization will offer scholarships, grants, and programs to help foster strong self-esteem, career development, and personal growth and will begin its work in Yonkers, N.Y. and the surrounding communities of Westchester, N.Y. Blige’s long-term goal is to eventually spread FFAWN’s efforts nationally.
FFAWN’s board of sirectors includes Blige, Kendu Isaacs, Stoute, Jada Pinkett Smith, Charles Wright, Lisa Price and Samantha Fink.
Blige is currently touring with rapper Jay-Z on Live Nation’s “Heart of the City” national tour, the pair have a performance tonight at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
