Warped Tour-approved metalcore rockers Blessthefall are back with a new studio album and Billboard.com has an exclusive premiere of what the band is calling their most accomplished work yet.
Recorded with producer Joey Sturgis, “Hollow Bodies” is the Phoenix, AZ band’s fourth album to date and first to include co-writing with other musicians, guest vocalists (Jake Luhrs of August Burns Red, Jesse Barnett of Stick To Your Guns, and Lights’ Valerie Anne Poxleitner), and string-laced orchestration. Frontman Beau Bokan is actually married to Poxleitner, who treated Billboard to an exclusive studio session in May.
“I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite song if you asked me to,” says Bokan. “After listening to it so many times every single song is it’s own beast and each song can truly stand alone. I believe that ‘Hollow Bodies’ is leaps and bounds beyond anything we’ve ever created and that this album will take us places we’ve never been before.”
The new LP follows up 2011’s “Awakening,” which debuted at No. 32 on the Billboard 200, the band’s best debut to date. “Hollow Bodies,” which hopes to top that figure, drops Aug. 20 on Fearless Records.
Blessthefall have been headlining the Vans Warped Tour all summer, and from Nov. 1-Dec. 14, will tour the U.S. with August Burns Red.
