There’s a small sliver of an intersection where music and science collide, but Bleachers‘ Jack Antonoff has found it with Bill Nye.
Without getting too technical or boring, in a video released Tuesday, Antonoff and Nye manage to apply scientific reasoning to the concept of Bleachers’ “Rollercoaster.”
The two really cover the gamut in five minutes of conversation, but there are a few good takeaways: That Bill Nye and his friends actually have a term for his own made up words — “Nyebonics”. That the “Science Guy” is a bit of an adrenaline junkie — “We all are,” he says. And that it’s basically interesting to hear Bill Nye talk about anything, so long as he’s relating it to science in even the slightest way.
“I think there’s a good chance Bill might be an incredible songwriter,” Antonoff told Fader. “[He] just has to get out of his head a little. Nonetheless, speaking to him on the different aspects of what ‘Rollercoaster’ means emotional was majorly validating. He can come over my house whenever he wants. Also, he fixed my fridge. Not a joke.”
The video is posted as “Part 1,” so we’re curious to see what might follow.
