The songstress, who was originally on John Legend‘s team, faced off against teammate Katie Kadan to perform Elton John‘s “Tiny Dancer.” While Kadan’s deeply rich vocals were “magic” in Legend’s eyes, Rayne’s pitch and emotional delivery certainly held its own.
“Katie, whoo, Lord Jesus, your voice just sounds like magic,” the “All of Me” crooner told Kadan upon choosing her as the winner of the round. “You belong making records, people need to see you and hear you.”
As Destiny walked away after thanking Legend for being her coach, Shelton slammed on his button to steal her for his own team. Just as the two embraced for a hug, Stefani snuck in and hit her button too.
“I was trying to be a hero,” the country singer hilariously shouted at Stefani, before turning to Destiny to add, “I don’t want to fight with my girlfriend but I’m willing to for you.”
Unfortunately Shelton’s efforts were unavailing, as Destiny ended up choosing Stefani as her new coach. Watch it all go down below.
