BLACKPINK member Rosé is on a cover song hot streak. After cooking up such a good version of John Mayer‘s Continuum track “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” on South Korean variety show Sea of Hope last month — which Mayer dubbed “gorgeous” — she was at it again this week with a take on Paramore‘s 2009 Brand New Eyes track “The Only Exception” on the same program.
Playing for a small crowd on the show’s beach house set, Rosé strummed an acoustic guitar as she sang, “He broke his own heart and I watched/As he tried to reassemble it/ And my momma swore/ That she would never let herself forget/ And that was the day that I promised/ I’d never sing of love if it does not exist/ But darling, you are the only exception/ You are the only exception.”
Rosé released her debut solo album R in March, which features the singles “Gone” and “On the Ground.” She is also the newest face of Tiffany & Co. after being announced as the luxury jewelry retailer’s latest global ambassador in April, joining the ranks of Lupita Nyong’o, Elle Fanning and Chinese actor-musician Jackson Yee.
