After Black Sabbath announced four initial tour dates in support of its forthcoming album “13” earlier this month, the reunited rockers have added 16 more shows to their North American itinerary. The expanded run will now launch on July 25 in Houston.
Tickets for the late-summer run will go on sale on various dates between May 3 and May 11. Tickets for previously announced performances in Toronto, Seattle, Los Angeles and Holmdel, N.J. went on sale last Saturday (Apr. 20).
Black Sabbath is currently on tour in Australia, performing new tracks from “13,” which is due out on June 11 on Vertigo/Republic in the U.S. Produced by Rick Rubin, “13” marks the first Ozzy Osbourne-fronted Sabbath album in 35 years, and the group’s 19th overall full-length.
“God Is Dead?,” the eight-minute first single from “13,” was released last week, and the new album was made exclusively available for pre-order at the iTunes store. Following the trek through Australia, Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler will head to Tokyo for the inaugural Ozzfest in Japan on May 12. The group will also debut a new song from “13” — and make a cameo — during the May 15 episode of “CSI.”
