The European leg of the Black Keys‘ Turn Blue world tour will not be happening.
For those who have been following the band closely, though, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Drummer Patrick Carney dislocated his shoulder earlier this month when a giant ocean wave slammed him into the ocean floor in St. Barths. He’s expected to make a full recovery, but for the time being, drumming won’t be in the cards.

With 50 percent of the duo on the disabled list, the Keys canceled 17 upcoming tour dates, beginning Feb. 16 in Zurich, Switzerland and ending March 10 in Paris. “Due to prior scheduled commitments and venue availability, efforts to reschedule the original dates were unsuccessful,” reads a statement on the band’s official site. “Therefore all tickets will be refunded in full at their point of purchase.”
No further dates are expected to be canceled, so the tour should resume April 2 in Brisbane, Australia. Carney and guitarist Dan Auerbach till tour Australia, New Zealand, and Japan throughout April, and then play a smattering of intercontinental festivals (including New York’s Governors Ball) in May and June.
