
Billy Ray Cyrus has joined the likes of Bryan Adams and Bruce Springsteen in speaking out against creeping anti-LGBT laws.
The “”Achy Breaky Heart” singer, actor and father of Miley Cyrus, shared a post on his Facebook page in which he said he “would feel negligent to not speak up.”

He added, “In light of my good friend, Bryan Adams, taking a stand and my daughter having been on the ground floor of this movement, this issue is very important to me. As a friend and dad… I’ve witnessed this fight from the very beginning. I think everyone should be treated equal. We’ve come too far; we can’t mess this up.”

The country star’s comments follow Adams’ decision to cancel a scheduled show this Thursday in Mississippi’s following the state’s passing of the “Religious Liberty” bill, which has been described as the most aggressive anti-LGBT law in the country.
Springsteen nixed a concert in North Carolina on the weekend in protest to that state’s controversial “bathroom” law, which dictates which bathrooms transgender people are permitted to use.
