Miley Cyrus‘ “Bright Minded” Instagram live stream on Tuesday (March 24) featured none other than her famous father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
The sweet father-daughter duo delved into an inspiring chat about life, which seems to be Billy Ray’s strength, as Miley recalled a number of times that his encouraging phrases have helped her in tough times.
Billy Ray’s quote of the day, which he saw on a church sign on the way to the studio, was “Faith is a verb.” “On this given day, I think that’s something we can all take to heart,” he explained. “Faith is a verb, it’s an action word, it’s something that you have to act upon.”
He went on to note that Nashville, where is currently located, is “in between” storm warnings just weeks after tornadoes devastated the city. “In a whole lot of ways, us as a society, were in between storms,” he noted. “And in these storms, it’s the best time to dig deep and find that faith and rely upon it. Listen to me, thoughts are things, no matter what religion you study or what psychology you study. Everyone agrees that everything in your world begins in your mind. No matter what’s going on in this crazy world, you think about what your goals are, you think about what your dreams are, you think about what your purpose is, and you plant that seed in your mind and chart a path.”
:Success is the progressive realization of worthy ideas or goals, not necessarily the attainment of it. The fun part is the climb, you sang about it,” he concluded, referring to Miley’s 2009 hit, “The Climb.”
The duo ended with a sing-along to the spiritual tune, “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.”
