Sure, superstar Billie Eilish is touring in arenas across the world these days, but the 17-year-old songstress had a special treat for a handful of SiriusXM subscribers at the iconic Troubadour in Los Angeles Wednesday night (Sept. 18).
The lucky fans packed into the 500-person capacity room to stand face-to-face with the singer, whose natural charisma and angelic voice was more prominent than ever, even in the smaller space.
The hour-long set (below), backed by her brother Finneas, was jam-packed with all the hits from her Billboard 200 No. 1 album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, including her Hot 100 chart topper “bad guy,” the Office-sampled “my strange addiction” and the sweet “i love you,” which fittingly was met by her fervent fans shouting their love for her throughout the tune.
Eilish even delivered some nods to her OG supporters, throwing it back with favorites like “bellyache,” “idontwannabeyouanymore,” and the explosive tune that started it all, “ocean eyes.”
“She’s never going to do these songs ever again, we’re never gonna hear them. Not true, dude!” she said to an audience member who requested she play “my boy” off her first EP. “I’m going to do–eventually–a tour with all of the old songs, so don’t worry. I’ve always wanted to do that. So, eventually, in the future, we will do a don’t smile at me tour.”
The intimacy of the venue allowed for the longtime connection and inside jokes between Billie and her fans to shine through, as made prominent when the crowd immediately spread out as far as possible for the “you should see me in a crown” wall of death done at every show.
The show comes a few weeks ahead of Howard Stern’s Los Angeles radio specials’ Hollywood official opening for SiriusXM and Pandora on Oct. 7. The Garage, the new state-of-the-art performance space at SiriusXM’s LA studios, will be used for live music, talk and comedy performances and special events.
