For decades, composers needed to pick their medium: film or television. Today, in many ways, the independent film and high-end TV composer communities are more or less the same.
A group of composers will discuss this phenomenon at BMI’s panel “The Blurred Line Between Film and Television” at the Billboard + Hollywood Reporter Film and TV Music Conference at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5. This year’s event is being held on the Universal Studios lot in Universal City, Calif.
Fil Eisler, Chad Fischer, Trevor Morris, Blake Neely, Atli Orvarsson and Michael Penn will discuss their methods and approaches to film and television shows, the demands of each, and why they have chosen the paths they have taken. Doreen Ringer-Ross, VP of Film/TV Relations, BMI, will moderate.
