Billboard Japan will be producing its own stage at Summer Sonic 2018, the annual urban music festival set for Aug. 18 and 19.
Billboard Japan hosted the “Billboard Japan Party!” at the Summer Sonic Tokyo Beach Stage from 2015 to 2017, and the event will expand in scale this year. The Billboard Japan Stage will feature an eclectic mix of rising artists and timeless acts across various genres that only Billboard Japan could bring together.
On Saturday, Aug. 18, West Coast singer-songwriter Ned Doheny and Average White Band‘s Hamish Stuart will team up for a special collaborative set. Other acts in the lineup include ’80s New Wave band Haircut One Hundred‘s frontman Nick Heyward and The Beatniks featuring YMO‘s Yukihiro Takahashi and Moonriders‘ Keiichi Suzuki.
The Sunday (Aug. 19) lineup includes Max, Cosmo Pyke and British singer-songwriter Jess Glynne, who was featured on Clean Bandit‘s “Rather Be.” More artists will be announced later.
Ned Doheny with Hamish Stuart and Nick Heyward are also scheduled to perform solo headlining concerts at Billboard Live in Tokyo and Osaka.
