Lost Kings are lost no longer.
Following official remixes of Dirty South‘s “Unbreakable” and Hayley Kiyoko’s “This Side of Paradise,” which hit No. 1 on the Hype Machine, the producers were given a shot at reworking one of their favorite bands: Imagine Dragons.
Reinterpreting the Las Vegas act’s folksy original as a melodic big-room number, Lost Kings’ remix commences with a delicate piano line and soft chords before building from its looped chorus into a layered synth driven drop. The overall approach is reminiscent of The Chainsmokers’ early material, and it’s easy to imagine other main-stage staples working this into their sets this spring.

Lost Kings’ Robert Gainly and Dr. No recall being thrilled to receive an all-caps email from their manager simply titled “IMAGINE DRAGONS REMIX.”
“Right away, we were pumped because we love the band and the original,” they say. “Dan put so much emotion into the lyrics, so we knew we had to match that emotion with the remix. It also has such a gospel feel so transitioning that into a dance track was something we were really excited to work on.”
Lost Kings’ remix of Imagine Dragons’ “I Bet My Life” will be available through Interscope on Jan. 27.
