The release of an expanded edition of Weezer’s 1994 self-titled Geffen debut and a comprehensive DVD has been pushed to next year, according to the band’s As previously reported, Pfahler spent five years wrangling with Geffen and its parent, Universal Music Group, to re-release the album, which has long been out of print.
The new edition of “Dear You,” originally released in 1995, will include four additional tracks (the Psychedelic Furs cover “Into You Like a Train,” “Sister,” “Friendly Fire” and “Boxcar”), plus the previously unreleased “Shirt,” which was recently mixed by J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines). The video for album track “Fireman” and a 24-page booklet round out the package.
