Music will be the focus of Thursday’s (March 10) episode of the NBC reality show “The Apprentice,” with appearances by Lil’ Kim, Eve, Fat Joe, Barenaked Ladies, Moby, Gene Simmons, Lil Jon, Simple Plan, New Found Glory and Jadakiss.
Each of the artists will be approached by contestants to donate a “personal experience” to be auctioned off for charity through music channel Fuse’s “Daily Download” program. The team whose auction items raise the most money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will be declared the week’s winner, while a member of the losing team will be fired by show patriarch Donald Trump.

G. Love & Special Sauce and Particle are among the artists who will perform on the inaugural Xingolati Groove Cruise. The three-day, three-night charter will depart Los Angeles Oct. 14 en route to Ensenada, Mexico, on board the Carnival Cruise Lines’ ship Paradise. The event will feature sets by the John Popper Project featuring DJ Logic, the Everyone Orchestra, DJ Greyboy, the Mutaytor, DJ Laird, Perpetual Groove, Lowpro Lounge, Soul Rebels Brass Band and Delta Nove. Organizer Guy Grand Productions (GGP) is also promising performance art and circus theatrics to amuse 2,000 fans.

A long-forgotten appearance by late Doors singer Jim Morrison in a Florida State University promotional film is back in circulation thanks to the Internet. Shot long before joining the seminal Los Angeles band, he played a clean-cut prospective student denied enrollment at the school, which he attended before enrolling in California’s UCLA film school and meeting his future bandmates. In the black-and-white 1964 FSU clip, Morrison is seen picking up a rejection letter from a mailbox and meeting with a school official who explains there’s simply no room for more students. “So what happened?” Morrison asks. “How come my parents, the state [and] the university didn’t look ahead?”
