With the second Taste Of Chaos tour just around the corner, Warcon Enterprises is readying a two-disc compilation of unreleased tracks, rare outtakes and special songs from artists participating the first and upcoming outings. Due Jan. 24, “Best of the Taste of Chaos” boats 26 songs from the likes of Story Of The Year, Thrice, the Deftones, Dillinger Escape Plan, the Used, Killswitch Engage, Rise Against and Shadows Fall.
As previously reported, Thrice, Deftones, Story Of The Year, As I lay Dying, Dredg and Silverstein are among the bands that have signed on for the 2006 Taste of Chaos tour. The run will open Feb. 16 in San Diego. For ticket information, visit tasteofchaos.com.

TVT is planning a Sevendust retrospective, “Best Of (Chapter One: 1997-2004), that will feature a trio of previously unreleased cuts. Due Dec. 27, the 16 songs album boasts the first U.S. release of “Coward” and “Rain,” and a cover of Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out” that makes its debut here. The album also features the band’s cover of Marvin Gaye’s “Inner City Blues.”
The band is in the midst of the Masters of Horror tour with Mudvayne, Bobaflex and 10 years, which will come to a close Dec. 20 in Oklahoma City. The band is blogging weekly about their experiences on the road for Billboard.com’s Tour Diary.
The group’s latest album, “Next” (Winedark/7Bros Records) debuted in October at No. 1 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart and No. 20 on The Billboard 200.

Matchbook Romance has been tapped as the headliner for the 2006 Sub City Take Action! tour. Also featuring Silverstein, Amber Pacific and Paramore, the tour will raise money and awareness for teen suicide prevention through the National Hopeline Network crisis hotline and the National Youthline Network. The outing is slated to begin March 1 in Baltimore, although a full itinerary has not yet been confirmed.
In addition, artist on the tour and others will contribute to the annual Take Action! compilation CD, which also benefits National Hopeline Network.
Matchbook Romance has recently completed its second album, “Voices,” due Feb. 14 via Epitaph. The band was featured on a split EP with Motion City Soundtrack last in September 2004 and spent much of this year performing on the Warped tour and headlining across the United States and Australia.
