Reports that have placed Bruce Springsteen in a small role in an as-yet-untitled film due to shoot this summer in New Jersey are untrue, according to a spokesperson for the artist. According to published reports, Springsteen was to portray a DJ who has conversations with the film’s main character, played by Julia Stiles (“Save the Last Dance,” “10 Things I Hate About You”).
Outside of concert and documentary films, Springsteen has made only one big screen appearance, a cameo playing himself in 2000’s “High Fidelity,” which starred John Cusack. The Steven Frears-directed film was based on Nick Hornby’s cult-favorite novel of the same name.

Once outside in the freezing night, members of the bands climbed on top of Mest’s trailer and played acoustic songs for the crowd until the police came to break up the scene. The musicians were threatened with arrest if the street wasn’t cleared of the several hundred fans that stuck around to take in the impromptu performance.
The bands continued the tour last night (March 7) in Chicago, and will visit Milwaukee tonight. Unwritten Law is touring in support of its Interscope album “Elva,” which debuted last month at No. 73 on The Billboard 200.
