Each member of modern rock act System Of A Down has designed artwork that will be featured in limited runs of 50,000 CDs each for the group’s rarities collection “Steal This Album,” which, as previously reported, is due Nov. 26 via American. Regular editions of the set will be housed in clear jewel cases with no booklet; fans can obtain lyrics and credits from the band’s official Web site.
According to a statement, “[drummer] John [Dolmayan]’s CD features an abstract image that is open to the viewer’s interpretation; [guitarist] Daron [Malakian]’s is a drawing of two people engaged in an intimate situation; [bassist] Shavo [Odadjian]’s is a maze-like illustration, and [vocalist] Serj [Tankian]’s is a series of concentric circles of words and phrases.”

Founded in 1997 by novelist/screenwriter George Dawes Green (“The Juror”), live Moth events have been held regularly in New York, and occasionally in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Dublin. The storytelling sessions are an attempt by Green to “recapture lazy southern nights of storytelling on his friend’s porch in St. Simons Island, Georgia, where moths would gather around the lamp.”
Trio will air eight hour-long episodes of the series between Nov. 18 and Nov. 27 featuring actors Griffin Dunne and Bill Irwin, comedian Reno, and author Dominick Dunne, among many others. For more information, visit the Trio Web site.
