Selena Gomez’s Twitter Account Hacked
Online followers of Selena Gomez may have noticed some surprising updates this morning from the pop singer. Gomez’s Twitter and Facebook accounts fell victim to a hacker, who attacked Gomez’s new squeeze Justin Bieber and wrote, “Oh yeh, JUSTIN BIEBER SUCKS!!!!!!” After approximately 30 minutes, Gomez assured fans that her “twitter has been fixed” and immediately deleted the hacker’s posts. Aventura’s Romeo Signs Solo Deal
Anthony “Romeo” Santos, the lead singer and songwriter of chart-topping urban bachata group Aventura, has signed a multi-million, five album deal with Sony Music and Jive Records. According to published reports from the EFE agency, Santos’ manager, Johnny Marines, said the contract was worth $10 million and a first album, with two or three tracks in English, is set for release Oct. 2011. Santos had previously told Billboard that he was shopping for a major album deal for his solo work. As a group, Aventura will continue recording for indie Premium Latin Music once its members release their solo albums.
Miley Cyrus Music Video Turning into Feature Film
Miley Cyrus may soon be starring in a new feature film inspired by one of her music videos. The singer’s mother, Tish Cyrus, has been in talks with Hollywood producer Suzanne Todd (“Alice in Wonderland,” the “Austin Powers” franchise) to turn the starlet’s clip for the track “Big Bang” into a narrative. The mysterious video stars Cyrus and actor Kevin Zegers and includes a nasty car crash. ( E!)
Jam Cruise Raided For Drugs
The Jam Cruise, an annual jam band festival on a 2550-passenger cruise ship, was raided by federal agencies on Jan. 4 while being docked in Florida. The raid resulted in 15 seizures of illegal narcotics like LSD, ecstasy and mushrooms, mostly found in small quantities. The Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir, Robert Randolph and Taylor Hicks were scheduled to perform this year. ( Spinner)
‘Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business’ Album Due in March
Brandy, Ray J, and parents Sonja and Willie Norwood will accompany their successful VH1 reality show, ‘Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business,’ with the release of a soundtrack in March. The album, which marks the first time the family has recorded together, will include first single “Talk To Me,” which was issued in December.
Dan Deacon Composing Music for Francis Ford Coppola Film
Indie electronic artist Dan Deacon will be composing the music for “The Godfather” director Francis Ford Coppola’s next film, “Twixt Now and Sunrise.” The film is scheduled to be released later this year and will feature Val Kilmer and Bruce Dern. Deacon and Coppola are also “collaborating on a larger level, details of which will be announced soon,” according to a press release. ( Pitchfork)
