Madonna: ‘I Need To Make New Music’
Madonna may have had a busy 2010 — starting a fashion line with her daughter and opening her first Hard Candy gym — but it hasn’t been making music. In a message from the Material Girl posted on her official Facebook today (Dec. 17), however, that is about to change. Madge tells her fans: “It’s official! I need to move. I need to sweat. I need to make new music! Music I can dance to. I’m on the look out for the maddest, sickest, most bad ass people to collaborate with. I’m just saying…” (MTV)
Christina Aguilera Cozies Up With New Boyfriend in Berlin
Christina Aguilera was spotted with her new boyfriend, Matt Rutler, in Berlin before the German premiere of “Burlesque.” The couple walked around the open Christmas market, ate sugared almonds and shared some warm mulled wine. Aguilera, dressed in a mini-skirt, black and white checkered shirt and a down parka, apparently went mostly unrecognized during the visit. (People)
Mariah Carey Proven to Increase Goat Lactation
Mariah Carey has racked up enough honors through the years, but this is one she’s definitely never heard before: Her song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is found to increase goat lactation above all other songs tested. This discovery was made St. Helen’s Farm in York, England, with the staff noting that the goats produced up to half a pint more while playing Carey’s famous Christmas track. (HeatWorld)
Paul McCartney Played the Financially Troubled London’s 100 Club
Paul McCartney gave an afternoon show at London’s 100 Club today (Dec. 17), playing 28 songs and urging shocked fans to help financially preserve the struggling venue. “It’s a really cool place,” McCartney said, “and many of my heroes have played on this stage.” The show, which was originally billed as ‘A Packed Lunch at the 100 Club,” is the smallest show the Beatle has played since his 1999 gig at infamous Liverpool jaunt, the Cavern Club. Sharon Osbourne reportedly revealed that she thinks that Cheryl Cole doesn’t have the star power stateside to be a successful judge on the American rendition of “X-Factor.” Cole, who has judged the U.K. “X-Factor” competitions and fronted British girl band Girls Aloud, has reportedly been offered a position as a judge on the new singing show being produced by former “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell. Osbourne thinks that Pussycat Dolls front woman Nicole Scherzinger will be a better choice. (Digital Spy)
The Black Keys To Rock ‘SNL’ Jan. 8
In addition to five recent Grammy nominations, the Black Keys have more good news with which to round out 2010. It was revealed today that the blues-rock duo will take the “Saturday Night Live” stage for the first time during the show’s first episode of 2011. Jim Carrey will serve as host that night, Jan. 8.
