Kid Rock is mixing his next Lava/Atlantic studio album, due this fall. The first single from the as-yet-untitled set will go to U.S. radio outlets in early September, to be followed by a world tour. Rock is producing the album, which is the follow-up to 2001’s “Cocky.” That set is No. 66 in its 87th week on The Billboard 200 and has been certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for U.S. shipments of 4 million copies.

As previously reported, Eitzel is also working on a project with former Wilco principal Jay Bennett in Chicago. “Most of it is done,” Eitzel told Billboard.com last month. “It’s just a matter of recording three more new songs and finishing it up. They’re all brand new songs.”
The artist’s latest solo album, “The Ugly American,” was released last week by Thirsty Ear and features newly recorded renditions of American Music Club songs and cuts from his solo albums.
