Radiohead, My Morning Jacket, Flaming Lips, Interpol and Franz Ferdinand are among the 13 artists represented on the compilation “KCRW Sounds Eclectic 3,” due Jan. 11 via Palm. All tracks were recorded on the Los Angeles-area station’s celebrated radio show “Morning Becomes Eclectic,” hosted by Nic Harcourt.
Radiohead turns in an acoustic version of “Go To Sleep,” while Iron & Wine covers the Flaming Lips’ “Waiting for a Superman.” The track list is rounded out by performances from Damien Rice, Jem, Paul Weller, Kinky, Sarah McLachlan and Steve Earle.
In related news, a planned Nov. 20 KCRW next Epic studio album, tentatively due in May. It’s the group’s first new set since 2002’s “Heathen Chemistry.” In September, Oasis celebrated the 10th anniversary of its debut full-length, “Definitely Maybe,” with a retrospective DVD chronicling the making of the album.

A related event, the Rock Slope, will be held March 17-20 in Steamboat Springs, Colo., with a lineup featuring Sister Hazel, Better Than Ezra and Edwin McCain, among others.
Featuring Sister Hazel, Cowboy Mouth and Tonic, the most recent Rock Boat was held earlier this fall and sailed from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico.
