Ghostface Killah’s new Def Jam album, “Fishscale,” is due in just three weeks, but the veteran rapper is still making tweaks to the final product. The artist has just finished recording a new song, “Momma,” which features new labelmate Megan Rochell. According to Def Jam, “Momma” may end up as the follow-up single to “Back Like That” featuring Ne-Yo, which is No. 41 this week on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
“Fishscale” features production by MF Doom, Pete Rock, Madlib and the late J. Dilla, plus guest appearances by Ghost’s Wu-Tang Clan cohort Raekwon. Wu-Tang recently wrapped up its first tour in years and is in the early stages of a reunion album.
As for Ghostface, he’s in the midst of an extensive North American tour that runs through April 22 in New York.

Additional details have come to light about the Tim McGraw compilation “Reflected: Hits Vol. 2,” due March 28 via Curb. As previously reported, the collection boasts the new songs “I’ve Got Friends That Do” and the Ryan Adams-penned “When the Stars Go Blue,” and will also feature the Nelly collaboration “Over and Over” and McGraw’s duet with his wife, Faith Hill, “Like We Never Loved at All.:
The set is rounded out by the previously unreleased tracks “Beautiful People” and “My Little Girl.” Among the requisite hits here are “The Cowboy in Me,” “She’s My Kind of Rain” and “Live Like You Were Dying,” all of which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Songs chart.
McGraw and Hill’s Soul II Soul tour kicks off April 21 in Columbus, Ohio.

Indie rockers Cobra Verde will guest on the March 16 episode of the Fox drama “The O.C.,” having been hired to play a birthday party at the fictional venue the Bait Shop. Once there, the band is requested to cover the enduring Foreigner power ballad “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” a recording of which will be available from Apple’s iTunes Music Store.
“[‘Girl’] usually ends up on lists of songs we compile while we’re driving around on tour — right up there with ‘Come Sail Away’ by Styx or ‘Carry on My Wayward Son’ by Kansas or ‘Open Arms’ by Journey,” says Cobra Verde frontman John Petkovic. “”Journey usually wins the worst-of award, which is why we figured we’d step up and take a stand on the issue — even if it meant having to wear trench coats, mesh shirts and those ugly ’80s boots.”
