Former “American Idol” finalist George Huff will release his solo debut recording on Tuesday (Nov. 9) via Word/Curb/Warner Bros. The five-track “My Christmas EP” will boast the medley “Angels We Have Heard on High/Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and reverent carols “Silent Night” and “Oh Holy Night.”
The set is rounded out by versions of the spiritual “Go, Tell It on the Mountain” and holiday favorite “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” All of the tracks can be sampled via Huff’s page on the Word Records Web site.

“It’s a celebration of the music of the season, which I’ve always found a magically effective genre,” says Burtnik, who has written songs for Smyth and Randy Travis and is a sometime member of Styx. “Once I realized it was a worthwhile undertaking, I decided it’d be most appropriate to the spirit of the show to give the profit to people in need.”
The upcoming show will benefit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Tickets priced $20 to $35 go on sale Friday (Nov. 5) at the venue’s box office and Tickets.com.
