Bob Dylan Paintings Draw Skepticism Over Source Material
Bob Dylan’s painting exhibit “The Asia Series” is receiving plenty of criticism over the singer/songwriter’s original source material. The exhibit, featured at the Gagosian Gallery in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, depicts a “visual journal” of Dylan’s journeys through Japan, China, Vietnam and Korea with “firsthand depictions of people, street scenes, architecture and landscape.” However, observers have pointed out that many of Dylan’s paintings actually resemble photographs by well-known photographers including Henri Cartier-Bresson and Léon Busy. Mick Jagger Eyes Big Screen for Thriller ‘Tabloid’
Mick Jagger is looking to appear in a movie theater near you with “Tabloid.” Also producing the film with Victoria Pearman under his Jagged Films banner, the Rolling Stones frontman is seeking the role of a global media mogul with dubious morality. The script is being penned by Josh Olson, most notably from “A History of Violence.” (Deadline)
Stalley Shares Details on Maybach Music Group Signing
A day after jumping on G-Side’s track, “Getting’ It,” Stalley spills details on signing with Maybach Music Group. “I just got a call from [Rick] Ross one day randomly and he told me that he wanted to basically have me come down and chop it up with him. See how they operate,” he told XXL. Stalley will reissue his album, “Lincoln Way Nights,” on Nov. 1. (XXL)
