Veteran instrumental rock act Don Caballero has signed a new deal with Relapse Records. The group, which currently features lone original member drummer Damon Che, is working on a new album with producer Al Sutton in Detroit. Among the tracks tipped for inclusion are “Palm Trees in the F***ing Bahamas,” “World Class Listening Problem” and “Theme From Bricktop Clowns.”
Don Caballero has not released a new studio album since 2000’s “American Don,” its last for longtime label Touch & Go and the final material that featured guitarist Ian Williams.
The new set will feature Che in tandem with guitarist Gene Doyle and Creta Bourzia guitarist Jeff Ellsworth and bassist Jason Jouver. That lineup has toured frequently in recent years.
