Buzz band Cold War Kids will spend almost every Wednesday and Friday in January performing in either New York or Los Angeles. The Orange County quartet will first play Open Bookstore in L.A. on Jan. 5, followed by Pianos in New York, alternating venues and cities through Jan. 26 at Spaceland in L.A.
The group is currently on tour in Europe in support of their Downtown debut album “Robbers & Cowards,” which was released in October. They will also make their television debut on Dec. 21 on “The Late Show With David Letterman.”

Brooklyn-based funk/rock collective Antibalas has signed with Anti- Records, which will release its next album, “Security,” on March 6. The group, which comprises a dozen members, has tapped John McEntire of Tortoise to produce its label debut.
Marked by their fusion of rock, Afro-beat and jazz elements, Antibalas (Spanish for “bulletproof”) shares saxophonist Martin Perna with TV On The Radio, with whom it has toured this year.

Mexican rock band Mana has revealed the dates for its 2007 tour, its first U.S. outing in three years. The group will kick-off its 19-show stint Feb. 10 at the San Diego Sports Arena, and will play a total of 12 U.S. cities including Los Angeles, New York, Miami and San Juan.
Mana will then continue touring throughout Latin America. Tickets for the “Amar Es Combatir” tour, named after the group’s new Warner release, go on sale Dec. 1.
