After scrapping her spring tour at the last minute due to an undisclosed medical reason, Cat Power is ready to get back on the road. The Chan Marshall-led act will return to duty April 27 in Tucson, Ariz., which will serve as a warm-up for an appearance two days later at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.
As was planned for the original dates, Marshall will be backed by the Memphis Rhythm Band, which played on her newest Matador album, “The Greatest.” The set earned her the best sales week and Billboard 200 chart position of her career, debuting at No. 34 thanks to sales of 23,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Here are Cat Power’s tour dates:
April 27: Tucson, Ariz. (Rialto Theatre)
April 29: Indio, Calif. (Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival)
May 1: Seattle (Showbox)
May 3-4: San Francisco (Palace of Fine Arts)
June 16: Manchester, Tenn. (Bonnaroo)

Britney Spears’ husband, Kevin Federline, will release his debut album, “Playing With Fire,” in August on an as-yet-unannounced label. The news follows the January release of his first single, “Popo Zao,” which was roundly derided by the media and failed to appear on any Billboard charts.
Federline is planning a promotional club tour to unveil his music, having made his first appearance of that kind over the weekend in Atlanta. “My album is sure to set dance floors across the world on fire,” he says.
