Though these eight artists didn’t make this year’s 21 Under 21 list, they’re worth keeping an eye on as they capitalize on their momentum. From a history-making debut on the Christian charts to a TikTok-fueled hit, these up-and-comers are well on their way.
Ángela Aguilar: The 18-year-old daughter of Pepe Aguilar is one of the youngest artists ever to earn both Grammy and Latin Grammy award nominations.
Anne Wilson: The 19- year-old Christian artist is this month’s Chartbreaker and scored her first chart-topper this year with the ballad “My Jesus.”
Glaive: In 2020, the hyperpop artist, 16, signed with Interscope. He released his second EP, featuring production from Travis Barker and Nick Mira, in August.
Zoe Wees: This German singer-songwriter (and former The Voice Kids contestant), 19, released her debut EP, which included her hit “Control,” on Capitol Records UK in May.
Meet Me @ The Altar: The pop-punk trio (Téa Campbell, 20; Ada Juarez, 22; and Edith Johnson, 21) signed with Fueled By Ramen in 2020 and just wrapped its first U.K. tour.
Claire Rosinkranz: Thanks to a TikTok hit, the 17-year-old scored a record deal with Republic and released her major-label debut EP, 6 of a billion, in July.
GAYLE: After signing with Atlantic in August, the pop singer-songwriter, 17, released her debut single, “abcdefu,” and will open for Winnetka Bowling League on tour this fall.
Ekkstacy: The 19-year-old Vancouver-born was one of four artists picked for Spotify’s newly launched Fresh Finds program aimed to help break independent artists.
