

After tapping Bilal to collaborate with him on To Pimp a Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar returns the favor as a guest on “Money Over Love.” The song is one of 12 tracks comprising Bilal’s upcoming fifth studio album In Another Life. During their show at the Regent Theatre in Los Angeles on May 15, Bilal and the album’s producer Adrian Younge performed the song with Lamar.

Rounding out the Life guest list: Big K.R.I.T. and Kimbra, who collaborated with the soulful Bilal on her 2014 track “Everlovin’ Ya.” The video for lead single “Satellites” debuted this week. Addressing such issues as police brutality, poverty and mental illness, the song sets the stage for the sociopolitical issues that Bilal explores on the new album. The singer/songwriter’s last outing was 2013’s A Love Surreal. The set reached No. 19 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
Now available for pre-order, In Another Life will be released June 30 through Purpose Music Group/eOne Music.
