With less than a month left until South Korea hosts the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Games, BIGBANG’s Taeyang released “Louder” today.
Serving as an Olympic honorary ambassador, the K-pop star’s first release of 2018 is a propulsive cheer track that blends pop-rock and tropical house elements to incite fervor for Pyeongchang 2018. “Louder” was written and composed by Taeyang, according to the official Twitter account of the Games, and was performed for the first time during the Olympic Torch Relay Ceremony.

Taeyang’s Olympic song was announced last June, but was released to coincide with increasing activities in South Korea ahead of the Olympics, including the torch relay, which has also featured Korean entertainers as torchbearers.
Taeyang is one of several Korean singers to be featured as an honorary ambassador for Pyeongchang 2018, along with opera singer Jo Sumi, Insooni, Jinusean’s Sean, Girl’s Day, AOA, and CNBlue’s Jung Yonghwa.
The BIGBANG member most recently released his White Night album in August.
