Big Sean goes from the stage to the small screen with his upcoming cameo in ABC’s new comedy Uncle Buck, a sitcom-style remake of the 1989 John Hughes film. Sean will join TV veterans Mike Epps (in the titular role) and Nia Long for the episode airing Tuesday, July 5, as “Flashback Miles”: one potential instigator in a series of classic family-show crises (a broken window, a fire).

“It was tight working with Nia Long and Mike Epps. I grew up watching them, so when I got the call, I was excited about that simple fact,” Big Sean tells Billboard. “They sent me the script the night before. I know I can act, but I was nervous about coming in the next day and delivering the lines. It ended up working out easily. I appreciate everyone being so supportive.”

“Big Sean — that’s a real pro right there,” says Epps, who plays Buck. “He is goin’ down as one of the greats in the rap game. It was so cool he came out to do Uncle Buck. He killed it.” Oscar Nunez — best known for his role on The Office — also guest stars on the episode.
