If ever there were an instrument dripping with sex, it’s the saxophone. The guitar makes a good case for itself at times, and pianists themselves can be sexy to behold, but the very sound of a slinking sax line, even when completely disembodied from its maker, is enough to put nether-regions on flood watch.
“Big Gigantic made a sexy instrumental, so this came easily – the lyrics are merely a reflection of what I was given,” Pell says. “I wrote this for the woman that is so sexy, it’s considered a talent. I would put on a show for her.”
The rapper puts on one helluva show on “Miss Primetime” with a funky, animated vocal performance at times quite reminiscent of Chance the Rapper. His half-sung, half-rapped words flow perfectly over the live electronic group’s smooth grooves. It’s tantalizingly smoky, and it’s not just Pell who’s feeling swaggy.
“We had been itching to work with Pell,” Big G says. “We sent him the instrumental and he sent us back a vocal masterpiece. This is one our absolute favorite songs coming out on our upcoming album.”
