Beyoncé took to Instagram Thursday night (June 13) to share the first ever public photo of her and Jay-Z’s brand new twins Sir and Rumi, and broke the internet in less than 24 hours with a whopping 6,901,151 likes and counting.
Similar to the theme used in the maternity shot she used for her baby announcement back in February, the photo posted last night boasts a scenic flowery landscape overlooking the ocean — but it was her outfit that got all the hype. Bey is pictured cradling her twins while wearing a bright aqua floor length veil and gorgeous purple, blue and pink Alejandro Gómez Palomo dress that’s actually from the label’s menswear line.
After being sent samples from Palomo, Beyoncé, placed a personal order for the dress before she got pregnant. “It’s the only piece I’ve ever made like that,” Palomo said in an interview with Vogue. It is vintage silk organza from a really old couture textile shop in Córdoba, Spain, which is near where I live. It is circa either the 1950s or the 1960s. I thought, Oh my God, I am so in love with this fabric. It had a midcentury quality—but we changed that. It’s exquisite… and I can never find it again, of course,” Palomo said. “It’s a gown now that almost has the shape of a big fur coat—sleeved and open.”
