Jay-Z and Beyoncé?‘s art-filled visual to EVERYTHING IS LOVE standout “APESHIT” gave us one of the more memorable moments of 2018. The Carters’ gallivanting through the Louvre museum in Paris has allowed the famed gallery to become even more of a tourist attraction.
Museum director, Jean-Luc Martinez, told a French radio station that they shattered their previous attendance record with a 25 percent increase in 2018. The Louvre welcomed more than 10 million guests through their doors in total last year, thanks to some help from America’s power couple stunting in front of the Mona Lisa.
“It’s clear that 2018 was a remarkable year for the international reputation of the Louvre,” said Martinez. “The Beyoncé video, like the opening of the Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi, ensured that the Louvre was talked about across the world, and one of the consequences of that is the spectacular rise in visitor numbers last year.”
The museum also created tours that would specifically focus on all of the art pieces featured in the “APESHIT” video shortly following its release.
