Beyonce will perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool at the Echo Arena on Nov. 6. The city is 2008 European Capital of Culture.
Finalists in seven of the 11 awards categories have also been confirmed. Britney Spears, Coldplay and Duffy each have nominations in three categories. Viewers can vote at at www.mtvema.com until Nov. 2.
Further performing acts will be announced in the next few weeks.
“We are extremely pleased that Beyonce is returning to the MTV Europe Music Awards and will once again wow the audience with what promises to be a show-stopping performance,” said senior VP music and production and executive producer, MTV Europe Music Awards Richard Godfrey in a statement. “I am confident that when we reveal the final acts to perform, the bill will live up to our promise that the MTV Europe Music Awards will absolutely be the best gig in Europe this year.”
The awards – sponsored by edc by Esprit, Sony Ericsson and Dell – will be broadcast live on MTV across Europe. Content will be available via television, web and mobile and will be shown on 21 channels in over 40 countries across Europe.
